BIRTH STORY
Reid was born at 35 weeks after I was put on hospital bedrest for pre-eclampsia. Reid's pregnancy was much more difficult than Landon's. I was very sick for the first half and even lost 10 lbs. Towards the end however, my bloodpressure began getting a little higher at each prenatal visit. On Tuesday, July 7, after my weekly OB visit, the doctor sent me straight to the hospital for overnight observations. At that point she wasn't overly concerned but was just curious if we could control my BP while I did nothing but stay in bed all day. Unfortunately, it continued to increase daily and jumped to something like 185/110 on Thursday afternoon. This was the final straw for my doctor and she decided to take Reid via c-section that night. While all the sonograms showed that Reid was a big boy, I was still concerend that he was not quite ready to be born. I broke down once the nurse told me we would be prepping for surgery. Aaron and my mom had been with me that day but had left for the afternoon to get some things done around the house. The nurses had prepared us for the possibility of breathing tubes, etc. but thankfully Reid was perfectly healthy inspite of his early arrival and needed no extra assistance in the nursery. I was put on magnesium to help prevent seizures (a side effect of pre-eclampsia patients). This was just about the worst feeling in the world. The magnesium relaxes your muscles so much, that I didn't even feel as though I had the energy to breathe. I was more alert during this delivery than I was for Landon's. I remember not being able to fight back tears once I heard Reid cry for the first time. Recovery after this surgery was tough. We were released to go home on Sunday. It was so wonderful to be able to leave the hospital and go home without leaving my baby behind...the only one of the three I would be able to do this with!

WELL CHECK STATISTICS

MILESTONES

First tooth-7 months old
3/22/10-Your first road trip. We went to Seguin to visit with PaPa and Grandma Meg (Eg). On this trip you started taking your paci. Before this time you were never interested in using it.
4/26/2010-At 9.5 months you had your first hair cut! Mommy LOVED your hair but it was getting a little shaggy and starting to get in your eyes and cover your ears. It was time! Of course, Mommy thought it was cut too short! :(
10.5 months-You officially started crawling! While a little later than your brother, it might have been because you had a little more weight to pull around! :)
13 months-You started walking!!!
At age 2 you moved to a toddler bed and did perfect from day 1! Such a big boy!
It took you a little longer than Landon to be potty trained (no doubt due to your stubborness). We started getting serious about it right before you turned 3...it was about a month after you turned 3 that you were completely trained!
