Happy Halloween

On Friday night, we had our Life Group Costume party! It was a blast and there were many great costumes! Our family decided to dress up this year. Landon was a monkey and Reid was his little banana. Aaron was a police officer (original, I know) and I went as his prisoner (with handcuffs)! I hadn't dressed up since I was a kid, so I felt a little silly, but we had a great time! Unfortunately, I was too busy gabbing and taking care of my little monkey and banana to get as many pictures as I wanted, but here are a few!

I think Aaron took his costume a little too seriously! :)

Unfortunately, time got away from us and we didn't get to carve our pumpkins this year. So, I let Landon paint one instead.
While I was cleaning up, Landon found some paint that had splattered on the fridge!

We went trick-or-treating with some sweet friends, Max and Nathan! They all did great and seemed to have a good time!
Reid was good most of the time, but got a little fussy towards the end!

Looking Back

There are many reasons why I love this blog. But one of the main reasons is because it gives me the opportunity to look back at some of our precious family memories. I'm looking forward to having this year's blogs printed as a book for us to keep. If anyone has done this and has any suggestions for where to get this done, I'll gladly take them! In the last few days, I've also seen how it is used as a reminder of God's faithfullness. I was reading some previous posts such as Singin' the Preggo Blues, Just For Reid, Our Newest Crew Member and The Truth and realized how thankful I am that God keeps his promises. In the previously mentioned posts, I discussed how physically ill I was, how I didn't know how in the world I could love another child like I love Landon, how scared I was when told I would have to deliver my son at 35 weeks due to preeclampsia and how hard it was for our family to adjust to life as a family of four....especially with a particularly difficult newborn! But, today I can gladly say that I am feeling better than I have in almost a year and I have a lot more energy to run after my 2 (excuse me...3) boys! I have an amazingly healthy 3 1/2 month old who went from a scrawny, premature newborn to a little chunky monkey (my nickname for Reid). I have an indescribable love for my 2 children that I never knew I was capable of until they were here. I'm not saying life is perfect, but these seemingly minor things that I previously struggled with have now been lifted thanks to the faithfullness of my heavenly Father. It's easy to look back and see God's Greatness once things are better. I pray that I am acknowledging it just as much in the midst of harder times. I hope you can look back and see how faithful He has been to you as well! :)
My little chunky monkey~He's so much happier these days and we just love to sit and "talk" with our sweet Reid!

I had just finished bathing Reid and was getting ready to bathe Landon and I thought it might be cute to get some pics of the boys in just their diapers. Well, as any other mother of more than one child knows, that's almost impossible! At first, Landon was less than thrilled to be taking pictures with his little brother...
This was the best one I got!

Cute Boys

I haven't had much to write about recently....just enjoying being a proud mommy of 2 handsome little boys! We're gradually finding our new routine and are just cherishing these times that will pass so quickly.
Landon's new elmo slippers...Thanks Katelynn! He loves them!!
Riding the pony at the Lake Pointe Fall Carnival. We got there late and Landon only got to ride the pony....but next year we'll get there earlier!!

Rain Rain Go Away!

With the past few days being so rainy, we've been stuck trying to entertain the boys indoors. This isn't the easiest of tasks sometimes, and they make sure to let us know when they have been inside too long. We tried to go to the pumpkin patch this morning, but it was so muddy that we couldn't really walk around and do much. However, Landon managed to do just enough walking around that he needed a change of clothes when we got home! Tomorrow, the Thompsons will leave for a road trip and will be gone for 6 weeks. We enjoyed one last little get together (until December) by taking the boys to Chuck-E-Cheese! This was a fun, non-muddy way for them to release some of that pent up energy! NiNi and G-Pa joined us and we all had a great time!
This is what Reid did for the first part of our time there.
Caedmon was just excited that this ride was over!

These are just some other random pictures from our past few days. The first is what we've recently caught Landon doing when his baby brother is crying!

Ahhhhh...now this is the life!! A warm bubble bath and the Disney channel! Yes, we have a T.V. in the bathroom! I thought it was ridiculous at first too, but you'd be amazed at how quickly you get used to it! :o)

3 Months

We can't believe it's already been 3 months since our sweet Reid was born! He is doing much better as far as his colic and is more consolable these days! However, we have had to switch him to the same hypoallergenic (and expensive) formula that Landon was on. At his last doctor's appt. (about 2 weeks ago) he weighed 12 lbs. 13 oz. Even though Landon is the oldest, we have a feeling Reid might truly be the "bigger" brother. Time will tell! Reid is officially sleeping through the night now...YEA...and will sleep anywhere from 8-10 hours. His smiles and coos are so sweet and we can't wait to watch his personality develop more as the months go by!

Since it was cool and rainy this morning and we couldn't go outside, we packed up and headed to Bass Pro Shop for some warmer, indoor fun! Next, we had Mexican food for lunch and then made a quick trip to Target. When we came home, all 4 of us took a nice, long nap! By early evening, Landon was already going stir-crazy again, so Aaron moved some furniture and set up the bounce house inside to help him release some energy! Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture!

A Spoonful of Sugar

Last night, Aaron and I sent the boys to MiMi's and headed out for a wonderful evening with Matt and Lauren! It was much needed, kid-free, adult time and we enjoyed every minute! We started off with dinner at McAlisters and then took the DART train down to Fair Park to watch the musical, Mary Poppins! The show was practically perfect in every way! :) It was 2 1/2 hours long, but was well worth our time! We didn't get home until 1:00 a.m....for being an old married couple, I'd say that's pretty good! Thanks MiMi and NiNi for helping make this fun night possible!

Z is for Zebra

The Thompson Troop and the McGrew Crew loaded up 3 little boys, 2 big boys, 2 tired Mamas and LOTS of kid paraphernalia and headed to the Fort Worth Zoo for the day! The weather was a little cool but was really quite perfect for a fun day outdoors! The hour-long trip was well worth the pleasure of seeing our sweet little boys get so excited about all the animals! After we were inside the park and saw the first exhibit, Landon refused to ride in the stroller anymore because he didn't want to miss a thing! All the boys (including the big ones) were on their best behavior while we enjoyed our 4 1/2 hour stay. Lauren was a real trooper as well, even though she's had the preggo blues lately. She's expecting baby #2 next May! YEA!! After the zoo, we headed to my parents house to celebrate my mom's birthday with some take-out from Chili's and birthday pie! Yum!
Reid is ready to go!
Landon seems to love zebras because he always makes sure to point them out in his books at home. So, this morning Aaron had him get a book and show him a zebra. He told Landon that we would see a real zebra at the zoo. Aaron packed the book away and pulled it out when we found the zebras! What a great dad!!
I was trying to comfort Reid (who was not happy at this point) but Landon was trying so hard to see the lions, so I had to pick him up as well.
