Jerusalem 4

I'm just going to call this post "Jerusalem Randomness." These are pictures that were important enough to me to add to my blog but didn't really fit under any particular day or site!
I'm not sure who captured these pics, but I love all of them of my precious 3 boys!

Each day we were in Jersusalem we would spend the day in the Old City and then walk to the New City in the evening for dinner and more site-seeing!

Some beautiful pictures of Jerusalem at night
I'm not really crazy about pictures of my "backside" but I just thought this was cute of me and my brother walking together and oogling over our sweet niece!

Jerusalem 3

To give you a little idea of how we traveled each day...
Many times we felt like pack-mules!
 The Upper Room...

A statue of David as a child
The kids definitely learned how to eat, drink and sleep on-the-go...Reid is enjoying some freshly squeezed pomegranate juice.

They also weren't shy about letting us know what kind of mood they were in...many places we went we made quite the scene!
Golgotha "place of the skull" where Jesus was crucified.
This is a picture of what Golgotha looked like 50 years ago...You can see why it has its name.

After visiting the Garden Tomb, my father had planned a very special surprise for us. He set up for us to take the Lord's Supper right outside the Tomb. I can't think of a more appropriate place and it was quite an amazing experience! The bible states that after Jesus and his disciples ate the bread and drank the wine, they sang a hymn before leaving to the Mt. of Olives. We enjoyed a lovely rendition of "The Lord's Army" since it's one of the little boy's favorite songs!

Jerusalem 2

A random pic of me and my beautiful niece...
There was lots of space to run around and get wiggles out around the Dome of the Rock. Reid was more interested in chasing his shadow...
 And a bee...

The garden at Gethsemane, literally “oil-press,” is located on a slope of the Mount of Olives just across the Kidron Valley from Jerusalem. A garden of ancient olive trees stands there to this day. Jesus frequently went to Gethsemane with His disciples to pray. The most famous events at Gethsemane occurred on the night before He was crucified (Mark 14:32-42).
Many of these trees are believed to be over 2000 years old, meaning, they were there when Jesus was!

The trek up to the Mt. of Olives is a pretty steep one! And with 3 strollers, we all definitely got a good work-out! They even had hand-rails down the side of the street.
These are graves on the Mt. of Olives. Since this is believed to be the place Jesus will return, many people want a "front row seat" so to speak! :)

A little girl time on the Mt. of Olives
"Then The Lord will go forth and fight against those nations as when He fights on a day of battle. On that day His feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives which lies before Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley; so that one half of the Mount shall withdraw northward, and the other half southward. And the valley of my mountains shall be stopped up, for the valley of the mountains shall touch the side of it; and you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then The Lord your God will come, and all the holy ones with Him." Zechariah 14: 3-5

And for your viewing pleasure...I'm not exactly sure what possessed Aaron to take this short clip while on a potty run with the boys, but it turned out to be a little funny. This is in a public restroom in the convent we stayed in in the Old City.
