Headed West

We arrived home from Waco around 3:30 PM on Thursday, unpacked, repacked and then headed to Hamlin at 9:00 AM Friday morning. This was the weekend of Hamlin's homecoming (the town my mom grew up in). But what made it an extra special time was that my mom had been nominated for Coming Home Queen of her class. This was her 40th High School reunion. So, my Mom, Dad, all 5 of us and all 5 of the Thompsons headed west for the weekend! The weather was wonderful, the festivities were fun and the food was fabulous! What a great weekend to get away to the country!

Friday night was the football game. We surprised my mom with these fun shirts for the kids to wear to the game (the Pied Piper is the mascot).

Some of us (who wouldn't take a nap) couldn't stay awake...

 Besides the homecoming acitivities, our favorite thing to do was play outside...and we especially enjoyed the 4-wheelers!

 Saturday morning was the homecoming parade...the kids really enjoyed this...especially since candy was thrown at them the entire time!

Cameron Park Zoo

Since there were so many pictures between the museum and the zoo, I decided to make this two separate posts. The next day, we all loaded up and headed to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco! The weather was beautiful and we all had a great time! After the zoo, we headed straight back home! Thanks for a wonderful time Thompsons...and sorry we left a parting gift! :)

A Visit to Wacko

Well, that's what the GPS on my phone apparently thinks! There we were last Tuesday, all excited about our visit to Waco to see the Thompsons...and Landon gets sick! :( After debating and watching him for several hours we decided to head on down to avoid the disappointment that would ensue should we cancel our trip. We had a wonderful visit and stayed for a couple of days. Unfortunately, Landon did pass on his little "bug" and a few other kiddos ended up with it. But, thankfully, it seemed to be mild and short-lived. The first night we were there we were visiting with some of the Thompson's friends when Micah became the next "victim". We had to borrow an outfit from Camry, so here he is sporting his purple, ruffley onesie!

The next day, Lauren and I took Caedmon, Camille and Reid to a children's museum on the Baylor campus. We left Micah and Landon home to rest after being sick! It was a lot of fun and Lauren and I really enjoyed how easy it seemed with just 3 of them!

 

We ended our museum adventure with lunch at Taco Bell...

Dinner that evening...Camille became the next victim of the bug!
