As told by Landon McGrew...
On Wednesday afternoon, Mommy and Daddy loaded me up for a car ride. I assumed it was just one of our normal trips to get dinner, go to the store or go see NiNi. After a couple of hours I was starting to get a little stir-crazy! Thankfully, Aunt Abby was there to keep me company! I appreciated that…so did Mommy and Daddy! I finally fell asleep about 45 minutes before we got to where we were going…Pa Pa and G-Meg’s house! I was so excited that I didn’t want to go back to sleep! Since it was 11:00 p.m., Mommy and Daddy weren’t too happy with me! What party poopers!
The next morning we took it easy and just hung around the house. We took a little boat ride on the river, which is right outside the back door! It’s really neat! That afternoon, we went shopping at the outlet mall. I don’t know what the fuss is about the outlet mall, but since I got a couple of new outfits, I didn’t complain! Then, we went to dinner at Clear Springs, which is supposed to be a really good place to eat catfish. I had the chicken!
After breakfast the next day, we went out on the boat again. Austin and Abby rode the tube and Daddy rode the kneeboard. Then, Daddy and me took a gentle ride on the tube. This was my first tube ride and it was a lot of fun! Mommy said she remembers riding the kneeboard and tube as a little girl. She really wanted to ride this time, but I’m glad she didn’t. I think that big bump would have just got in the way. She really should lay off the potato chips.
I was so tired after all our fun on the boat, that I had to go take a nap. I heard a rumor that while I slept, Mommy and Daddy took a ride on Pa Pa’s motorcycle. Mommy said we shouldn’t mention that to the doctor.
When I woke up, we went to a really neat museum where you can run around and touch everything….and NOT get in trouble! I got to push a shopping cart around (my favorite), play in water, pretend to be an astronaut and lots of other fun things! Our time at the museum went by way too quickly, and soon it was time to head home. Daddy made grilled chicken, veggies and baked potatoes for dinner. He’s a good cook! After dinner, we went for an evening swim in the river. Since I had such a long day, I slept really well that night.
The next morning, it was time to head back home. Our trip back seem to take forever…especially since I didn’t have anyone in the back to keep me company. I slept for about 45 minutes and gave Mommy and Daddy a little peace and quiet. They deserved that! Sometimes I give them a hard time, but mostly I’m a pretty good kid.
