When we talk about Reid, we tend to use words like spark plug, fire-cracker and spunky. He is definitely our dare-devil and doesn't seem to sense danger in doing some of the things he does. Landon has always been a little more timid and cautious so this is new to us. But, he's also a pretty tough little guy! Yesterday, while playing outside he took a good little fall on the sidewalk and got a nice mark on his forehead to prove it. Not 5 minutes after this, he was trying to climb up on top of the little picnic table in the backyard.....that's our Reid!
For 3-4 weeks now, Reid has been dealing with some congestion, coughing and off-and-on fevers. After 10 days, we took him to the doctor. They said his lungs were clear but he had an upper respiratory infection and his ears were red and had fluid in them. We went ahead and did an antibiotic for 10 days. He never seemed to get better and in fact just seemed to gradually become worse. We finally decided to take him back and are thankful we did. After listening to his chest they discovered that he was really struggling to breath and was wheezing as well. They diagnosed him with bronchitis. He received 2 breathing treatments in the office this morning. To say Reid didn't like the breathing treatment would be an understatement. I'm so thankful Aaron was at the appt. with me as Reid had to be restrained for two 10-minute sessions! This isn't easy for a mommy to do. They sent us home with a nebulizer complete with a cute little puppy dog mask to continue these treatments for 2 days (plus 2 more oral medications). We did our next treatments for the day at NiNi & G-Pa's and he started to be more brave....
It didn't hurt that G-Pa flew his RC helicopter....
