First Chompers

At almost 7 months, Reid is getting his very first tooth! Congratulations buddy! Those will come in handy for fending off your big brother!
If you squint real hard and kind of turn your head to the side you might be able to see the tooth! I promise it's there! :)

Nini gave Reid some teething biscuits for Christmas and he loves them! We have to strip him down before we give him one though because they are M.E.S.S.Y!

I added this one just because it's so pathetic looking. This is what happens when the biscuit runs out!

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Because Reid spits up and drools an inhumane amount, he wears a bib all day. For a while now, we've noticed that if Reid is playing on the floor and we walk away, many times we come back in to find him looking like this...I have to admit, I've blamed Landon a few times of doing this to his little brother. I mean, it would seem like the perfect big brother crime. But, we've recently discovered who the real culprit is...

Now the question is, is he embarassed about something, or is he just practicing his little brother role by starting to frame his big brother at such an early age?

Just for Lauren: At the end of the video when Reid gets in a "fight" with the bib, all I can think of is....."Who makes this??"

Potty Woes

Help! My (almost) 2 1/2 year old has had a completely dry diaper 2 mornings in a row! One would only assume he really needs to GO! However, I can't get him to put his "tee-tee's in the potty" as we call it! I've tried bribing, demonstrating (don't ask) and distracting him with books. I can get him to sit on his little froggy potty for a few minutes, but he doesn't seem interested in using it for anything other than a chair. I've always heard that potty-training is something you don't want to rush and up to this point I've never really forced the issue. But, now that he's coming up to the 2 1/2 year mark, I want to take advantage of these readiness signs he's unknowingly giving me! Any suggestions?Mimi was staying with the boys one night last week and got Landon to sit on the potty for a good while! And, ofcourse, what's quality time on the potty without the latest edition of Reader's Digest?

The Flush

Named for the way it makes people look as though they've just been "flushed" and are spiraling down the porcelain throne, this is the latest dance craze created by our very own Landon. It's pretty easy to do, even for those of us who are less-coordinated. Just place an object in the middle of the room and run around it over and over. This is also a great way to get wiggles out on cold, rainy days! Many times, Reid is in the bouncer (thanks Cassi) getting his wiggles out while Landon dances around him! Mommy and Daddy have even been known to do "The Flush." But you won't be seeing that on this blog! :)

Landon's Many Hats

For some reason, when Landon was around 1, Aaron and I started a tradition of taking his picture wearing hats that we come across while shopping. I'm sure Reid will get to take part in this pretty soon. I'm not exactly sure how it got started, but the other day I was wondering what I was going to do with all these hat pictures. While I'm still not sure, I'll post a few of them for you to see how we subject our children to embarrasment purely for our amusement! :) I know we're not the only parents to do this though...
