Celebrating A Year - Part 1

This past weekend we celebrated Reid's birthday with two of his other July birthday buddies from church. We had a blast at the spray park and look forward to celebrating once again this coming weekend with family.
Reid got to enjoy some birthday donut holes...actually he enjoyed about 4 of them!
Landon was not too fond of the spray park last year, but LOVED very second of it this time!

Change

Let me start by saying that I don't like change. Little changes are good. But I'm talking about big changes. I think it's because I get attached easily. We've decided to put our house on the market in search of a little more breathing room for our growing family. I absolutely love the house we are in right now. It's perfect. It has a nice big backyard, it's right next to the lake, and it's close to family and friends. I've said a million times that if it just had a few more square feet I could stay here for the next 30 years. Getting the house ready to sell has been a very stressful process for me. After all, I've never done this before. My parents still live in the same house they had before I was born. Over the last week I've watched my cozy little nest turn into a model show home. It's not suited for a family with two kids under 3 years anymore. Their playroom, along with 80% of their toys, is now gone. Half of our posessions now reside in a storage unit across town. Don't get me wrong, the house looks great, but it's not our house. Being the planner that I am, this process isn't sitting well with me. No one can tell me exactly how long it will take to sell this house and buy a new home. I don't like that. A lot has happened here over the last 5 years. I will definitely miss this house and the memories that it holds. These pictures are of our "staged" house.

The Big ONE!

I can't believe it's been one year since Aaron made THIS post. I look back at it and tear up just thinking about the roller coaster of emotions I was on during those few days of uncertainty. Reid has certainly made up for the scrawny premature newborn that he was on July 9th, 2009. He has such a spunky personality! He is one-track minded and stubborn (like his mommy). He is cruising all over the place and we expect him to start walking anytime! He LOVES food and never can seem to get enough of it! We're down to one formula bottle at night and fortunately he's taken to whole milk very well! We love our sweet Reid and the joy that he has added to our family! We can't wait to see what year #2 brings! Here is a look back at a few pictures from his first year! Happy Birthday sweet baby boy!! We love you!!

The 4th

Our 4th of July celebration involved....
Being patriotic by wearing blue...after eating blueberries!
Cookies!
Glow-sticks
Watching fireworks with Daddy and saying "kabooom" everytime they go off.
Being wowed by your first fireworks show! Is that an "Aaron" face or what?
Fireworks...ofcourse!
Trying desperately to stay up much past your normal bedtime to enjoy the show.

Fone Pics Friday

One day last week before leaving to run a few errands with the boys, Landon grabbed this bag (one that we keep all the play foods in), put it over his shoulder and informed me that it was "Landon's purse." Then he asked, "Where's Mama's purse?"

As for me and my house, we will work for the Lord. Joshua 24:15

We were married in 2005 and have been best friends ever since. Now we're raising three little boys and are loving every minute of it. We are constantly learning about the character of God through marriage, parenting and daily life!
