Celebrating!

This past weekend was spent celebrating Landon's 3rd birthday! Friday night, Aaron and I took Landon to see Veggie Tales Live! He really enjoyed the show and we were glad to have some one-on-one time with the birthday boy!
Showing off his Veggie Tales souvenir...
On Saturday morning, Landon and I had a special date! I've been hearing about the Lowe's and Home Depot kids workshop that is FREE every month! They get to go build a toy and get their own apron and goggles! It's so cute and Landon really enjoyed building like a big boy. I was so excited when I read that Saturday's project at Lowe's was going to be a little wooden fire engine with a light and siren! I just knew Landon would love that! When we got there we learned that this particular kit had been recalled the previous week and we had to build a little wooden puppet stage instead. While it was cute, I was really looking forward to the fire engine. They even had a real fire truck there! I felt a little incompetent trying to figure out the instructions to this toy. We didn't do the best job on it but hopefully we'll go back and keep practicing! Because I had to help Landon out so much I didn't get many pictures, but Aaron showed up at the end and I was able to get one! It really shows how much concentration it takes to hammer a nail!

Saturday night was our family party! Unfortunately, the night got away from me and I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked! By the time I got it out and started taking some my memory card got full!
The adorable cake made by MiMi....
I know this isn't the birthday boy (and sadly I didn't get many of Landon before my card was full) but I couldn't resist posting these of Reid! I'm not looking forward to disciplining this little one with those big baby blues looking up at me! But oh how I know he'll need it!! I've said a million times that Reid is our "spirited" child! He's got a lot to say and is not afraid to say it!! :)
You could probably tell by the cake, but the theme of Landon's party this year was Trains! More pictures to come of his new train table....

How can it be that he's already 3?

C.R.A.Z.Y! This is the only thing that comes to mind when I think about our sweet Landon turning 3! Three years ago today we started down the crazy road of parenthood. What an amazing three years it has been. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect little angel to jump start our journey. I feel like I've learned more in these last three years than I have in my entire life. Some days I feel like I could quite literally pull my hair out with the frustration these little boys cause me, but at the end of the day (once they're asleep in bed mind you) I'm reminded of how truly blessed I am to be a mother. What a gift...and what a responsibility! Landon is our super sweet and (for the most part) mild-mannered child who can be a little stubborn at times and is all B.O.Y! He reminds me of my little brother when he was a kid just wanting to get a stick and poke at things outside or kick the rocks and dirt or play with his cars. He loves to give hugs and kisses and is very affectionate. He doesn't ever seem to meet a stranger which makes new people and places that much more exciting. He's very inquisitive and enjoys exploring the outdoors. Oh, how we are so much in love with this precious little life! Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Little Boy! Check out Landon's Birth Story if you haven't already!

Sweet Landon, Our prayer for you is that you would one day realize where true joy comes from and that you would (sooner rather than later) enter into a personal relationship with your Lord and Savior. We pray that you don't become overwhelmed with the empty promises this world has to offer but would find true confidence and fulfillment in the One that can give you eternal life.

This morning we had a special birthday breakfast at IHOP with MiMi & Grandy!
Even though his party is not until the weekend, I had to give him at least one gift....his very own camera!

This afternoon I took Landon to the grocery store and let him pick out one of the little pre-made cakes to eat after dinner! I know we're having a party for him on Saturday, but it just didn't seem right to go through his actual birthday and not sing to him or let him blow out candles! This is what he chose...

Fone Pics Friday

Please bear with me as I realize the posts are sparse these days! I hope to be back in the regular blogging business soon!

I love both of their expressions! Reid appears so poised and mature and Jack's just not sure about this!
I don't why this was funny to me...we had been playing in the sandbox and somehow sand got stuck to his face that looked like a mustache!
We got caught in the rain during an evening stroll.
Is there anyone else that finds these 2 physiques so unbelievable?
I sent Landon to go potty and he came back looking like this!

These pictures are not fone pics, but I had them on my camera and wanted to add them!
This is how we get wiggles out on rainy days!
I know I've posted before about how I have this crazy obsession with pictures of my kids sleeping, so I had a couple to share. Landon has never really been attached to any sort of blanket or stuffed toy which is obviously OK, but I've always thought it was so cute when a child falls in love with one particular lovey toy. Reid has recently found his (it's a bear/small blanket) and loves to sleep with it! It's so precious to see him cuddling it!
This is post-bath time! Mommy was out for a run while the boys took a bath and these pics were a surprise when I went to download my card. My favorite part of the above pic is Landon peering over the side of the tub!

Catching Up

Since I started this blog almost 2 years ago I don't think I've gone this long without a post! Things have been super crazy for our family and we seem to have a lot on our plates right now. But, I have some pics from this past weekend to share! Enjoy!
On Friday, we went to have dinner with some good friends and then headed to a city-wide family event at a park close to our house! Between our families, there are 6 boys and 2 girls! I think we're out-numbered, Alissa! :) We had a blast!
Luke & Greg in a relay race!
On Sunday evening, I surprised Aaron with an evening away! As best as we can both remember, it had been over 2 years (since our trip to Hot Springs for our 3rd anniversary) since we've had a night away from the kids. It was a much needed and long over-due get-a-way! The boys stayed with MiMi and Grandy. We didn't do a whole lot (which was the point I guess) but we headed to Frisco and just enjoyed some kid-free time together. Sadly, neither one of us could sleep in past 7:30 in the morning so we were up and ready to start the day! We were only gone about 19 hours but we really enjoyed our time away!
Our view from the hotel....The Dr. Pepper Stadium where the Frisco Rough Riders play. We were hoping there would be a game to watch, but they didn't play that night!
We headed back Monday morning for a busy, but fun-filled Labor Day! We started with a cook-out with lots of family at MiMi & Grandy's! Here is our attempt at getting all the kids (6 kids all under the age of 3) to pose for a picture!

In the afternoon, we headed to NiNi and G-Pa's house for dinner! We played outside after eating since it was so nice. We just snapped a few random pics while we were out!

These were two very worn-out boys at the end of the day!
