Halloween Weekend

I'm a little behind in posting about our halloween activities. I've definitely hit that stage of pregnancy where pure exhaustion has set in...and I'm taking more free moments to just rest! Life is about to get crazier than I've ever known it so why not take advantage of the next 6 or so weeks to use the pregnancy excuse to just sit and do nothing every now and then! :)

Friday night the boys and I along with MiMi and Grandy headed to one of our church carnivals. It was pretty chilly that evening and crowded so we didn't get to do a whole lot but I think everyone still enjoyed their time.

Landon and I got to ride the train...which was his favorite activity for the evening...but we couldn't seem to get him to look at the camera!

Reid didn't want to ride the train but opted to stay and snuggle with bear...

Sunday evening, we headed to another church carnival with NiNi and G-Pa. They had a firetruck there...which was perfect for our little fire chief and his dalmation....except neither of them wanted much to do with it....

Reid was excited to finally find someone who came dressed like him.....

They could really relate with one another...

Monday night (Halloween) we were supposed to go trick-or-treating with some friends, but I got sick so we didn't make it...but the three boys hit a few houses on our street and still managed to score plenty of candy! I drove along side them so I wouldn't miss out!

Tuesday night, we finally got around to carving our pumpkin and roasting seeds! Landon and Reid enjoyed helping this year!

I love these "deer in the headlights" looks from the boys. These were both taken in the dark while I was trying to get some pictures of our finished lit-up pumpkin...

YUM! I seriously ate ALL the roasted pumpkin seeds from our large pumpkin in less than 24 hours! I had a little help from the boys...but it was mostly me!

A Sneak Peek at Micah...

We've had 3D/4D sonos done with all of our boys and little Micah was not going to be the exception! With the other 2 boys I was around 27-28 weeks and with Mr. Micah I was 30 weeks. Landon got to come and really seemed to enjoy seeing his new little brother with a little more detail. He was weighing about 4 lbs. this morning and was fairly cooperative for our little sneak peek! I'm so thankful I only have a few short weeks till we get to hold him in person! Based on his sweet little chubby cheeks we're predicting he will look more like his biggest brother. Landon and Reid have proven to be complete opposites in every way possible! It's going to be so much fun to see what this little boy is like!

And just in case there was any doubt that he's all boy...

 I thought this was pretty cool...she could see a little bit of hair on the sono. She said there was not very much at all though! Guess we'll see if any more sprouts in the next few weeks! Landon had a little bit of hair and Reid had barely any!

Pumpkin Patch 2011

This morning we finally made it out to the pumpkin patch! The cooler temps made it a perfect day for the event. We had a great time looking for pumpkins, taking a hay ride and feeding some animals. The boys weren't all that into taking pictures, but I did manage to get a handful of decent ones!

Neither of the boys wanted much to do with the animals (it's funny how much they LOVE animals until they come face to face with a live one) but Reid did get eventually get a little braver.

Gettin' Scrappy

I've always wished I was more crafty than I actually am. I enjoy attempting projects, but often times they turn into items that I would be too embarrased to be around my house so I give up. Every now and then though I manage to succeed. I've recently completed 3 mini projects using scrapbook paper! The first one I shared in the post about the Nursery. It's made using a thin wooden "M" from Hobby Lobby (which probably cost $1-$2), a little spray paint, some scrapbook paper and modge podge. Before adhering the paper, I spray painted the "M" a chocolate brown. Then I traced the "M" onto the scrapbook paper, cut it out and used modge podge to glue it on. I actually wish I had used spray adhesive instead of the modge podge, which was a little too goopy and just wanted to make the paper tear. The spray adhesive can be a little sticky to use, but it works really well!

The second project was inspired after I started getting the boys fall clothes out. I knew there were some upcoming cooler days so I wanted to get through this daunting task! But now that the boys are sharing a room it makes organizing their clothes a little more difficult. Especially because between the two of them they can wear anything from a 2T to a 4T. Reid is generally a 2T-3T and Landon runs 3T-4T (although there are even some 2T things he can wear). So, I decided to get on line and learn how to make some closet dividers. These were made using scrapbook paper, thin cardboard from cereal boxes and spray adhesive. They were pretty simple and I was impressed that they actually turned out. I used a can of soup (one circle on top of the other) to make my pattern. You could also divide up seasonal clothes this way, or even put names on it if your kids can't share clothes!

 I made several so I put a few in Micah's room....although I don't have the clothes quite ready to go in there yet!

The last project was something I found on Pinterest several weeks ago and was determined to give it a try because it seemed too simple not to. I just cut out a letter "M" from scrapbook paper and used adhesive spray to attach it to my pumpkin. And ofcourse, I had to represent our 3 lil' punkins' with their very own mini-pumpkins!

I caught Landon and Reid playing in our toy boxes and I immediately remembered the above pictures so I had to share the comparison. What a difference 2 years can make! I Can't believe how much he's changed and grown...and I REALLY can't believe that I'm about to have another one that's as small as he was in the blue box!
