Since all the McGrews had been puke-free for 24 hours, we decided to load up in the car, run a few errands, and then stop at a park to enjoy the beautiful afternoon and let Landon get some of his wiggles out. About 2 miles down the road, my nose picked up a smell that I had become all too familiar with over the last several days. We pulled over to find Reid COVERED in vomit! Poor baby hadn't made a peep, but had it coming out his nose and was all over his arms and legs....it was a sad sight. We headed home to get him cleaned up, but his carrier was so bad that it needed a trip to the wash and we couldn't head back out as a family. So, I ran the few necessary errands and made a couple of extra stops. The first was to Walmart to grab a pizza for dinner and the second was to Target to pick up a new game that I thought might be fun to try. We threw our picnic blanket down in the playroom and made it a fun evening! The game we played was called
Elefun. It's a fun little game where "butterflies" fly out of the elephants long trunk and you catch as many as you can with your net.
Unfortunately, Reid threw-up again before he went to bed. I turned around just in time to see a fountain of formula literally shooting out of his mouth and nose. Then, in the midst of typing this post, I stopped for a 50 minute blood-curdling crying session with poor Reid. Of course this is what all went though my head....
Is it just gas? Is he just fighting sleep? Is there fixing to be an explosion from his diaper or his mouth? He's probably hungry....should I even attempt to feed him? Will it all just come back out in a violent way? Would he drink it whether he's hungry or not and just make matters worse? AHH!! After 2 ounces of pedialyte and some mylicon didn't work, I decided to try a little formula again. Thankfully, he is sleeping peacefully now....and so far it's stayed down! Unfortunately, he's still having diarrhea as well, so I'm really frustrated that he's been sick for 4 days when the rest of us only had it for about 24 hours. Tonight, he got moved from the floor in our room to up in the bed with me. While I know this won't make him better, I guess it just makes
me feel better to be closer to him. There's just something about these sweet baby blues that's so hard to resist....

All cleaned up after the car incident....chuggin' down some pedialyte

Eating
sizza, as Landon calls it.

Waiting for the butterflies...

Even Reid had a net...he didn't catch too many though! :)

Counting butterflies...

Mommy McGrew Rating: Except for a few minor mechanical issues that could use some improvement, this is a pretty cute little game for preschoolers. Landon really seemed to enjoy it. It helps with counting, learning colors and also gets kids up and moving around. It comes with 30 "butterflies" but it seems like it would be pretty easy to make your own if you wanted to add more! I give it 4.5 out of 5 crayons!
