Halloween Weekend

It seems not so long ago that we were dressing the boys in their little monkey and banana costumes (Halloween 2009). For Halloween this year the boys were Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. Thanks to the Meltons for letting us borrow Donald. I found Mickey on ebay for $12.50. I couldn't justify buying brand new costumes for them to only wear a few hours this year so I'm thankful for my frugal find! We had Halloween activities all 3 nights this past weekend. Friday night was the Fall Carnival at church. Saturday night was our Life Group party and then Sunday we enjoyed some fun trick-or-treating with friends!

I happen to catch spiderman taking a golf swing...I'm sure his Daddy would be proud of that form!

Fall Fun!

Last Weekend, Landon, NiNi and I headed out west to Hamlin, TX (near Abilene) to visit my mom's hometown which was celebrating homecoming. It was a fun trip and we enjoyed spending the weekend with some family we don't get to see very often! Unfortunately I didn't get a whole lot of pictures with family, but I'll share what I did get!
We made it for part of the football game on Friday!
Uncle Sammy & Landon
I actually got up and took the picture above at like 2 in the morning. I wanted evidence of why I would be so tired the next day! This boy is a CRAZY sleeper and I don't particularly enjoy sharing a bed with him. I tried to pawn him off on NiNi but he wanted to sleep with Mommy....well, I couldn't argue with him on that! :) The picture below was how we caught him napping the next day. Remember, I love taking pics of my sleeping babies!
The beautiful yard at Uncle Sammy and Aunt Diana's. This is the same house where my mom grew up.

We chatted with a new friend on Sunday morning before church.
There were some cute little kittens there and Landon adored them...sometimes a little too much! :)

Thanks for a fun weekend Uncle Sam, Aunt Diana, Cousin Brian and Courtney!

After a weekend away from each other, the four of us headed off to a family trip to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch on Monday. I was so hopeful of getting some adorable Fall pics of the boys, but they were just about as uncooperative as ever this day! Also, while most of the time I enjoy editing my pictures, it is a very tedious project and I just wasn't up for it today so these are raw!

The picture above was one I took with my phone the day we brought Landon home from the hospital. I just had to have a pic of my new baby for my wallpaper. The picture below is Landon's first real smile that I happen to catch on my camera phone.

Rough & Tumble

When we talk about Reid, we tend to use words like spark plug, fire-cracker and spunky. He is definitely our dare-devil and doesn't seem to sense danger in doing some of the things he does. Landon has always been a little more timid and cautious so this is new to us. But, he's also a pretty tough little guy! Yesterday, while playing outside he took a good little fall on the sidewalk and got a nice mark on his forehead to prove it. Not 5 minutes after this, he was trying to climb up on top of the little picnic table in the backyard.....that's our Reid!
For 3-4 weeks now, Reid has been dealing with some congestion, coughing and off-and-on fevers.  After 10 days, we took him to the doctor. They said his lungs were clear but he had an upper respiratory infection and his ears were red and had fluid in them. We went ahead and did an antibiotic for 10 days. He never seemed to get better and in fact just seemed to gradually become worse. We finally decided to take him back and are thankful we did. After listening to his chest they discovered that he was really struggling to breath and was wheezing as well. They diagnosed him with bronchitis. He received 2 breathing treatments in the office this morning. To say Reid didn't like the breathing treatment would be an understatement. I'm so thankful Aaron was at the appt. with me as Reid had to be restrained for two 10-minute sessions! This isn't easy for a mommy to do. They sent us home with a nebulizer complete with a cute little puppy dog mask to continue these treatments for 2 days (plus 2 more oral medications). We did our next treatments for the day at NiNi & G-Pa's and he started to be more brave....

It didn't hurt that G-Pa flew his RC helicopter....
These are just some pics from this past week.... Does anyone else see a future class clown in these pictures??

We were married in 2005 and have been best friends ever since. Now we're raising three little boys and are loving every minute of it. We are constantly learning about the character of God through marriage, parenting and daily life!
