Baby Update

Just a quick update on our 3rd little trouble maker boy! Since I haven't officially announced his name I will do so now...
The voting poll we had up a few weeks back showed Micah to be the favorite of the 5 listed. However, this is the name that Aaron and I were thinking would probably be the one anyways! To be honest, for a while I went back and forth. First, it was between Micah and Mason. And then, it was between Micah and Josiah. But in the end, Micah continued to stand out to us and we decided to just make our decision. Personalized things have been ordered so there is no going back now! :)

I'm almost 23 weeks now! Our most recent sono was last week and I would attach a picture to this post, but I was only given one and it made our sweet little boy look a lot like a duck for some reason...so I'm choosing to keep that pic to ourselves! But, I will have plenty of future sono's so I'm sure a better one is just around the corner. The sono last week showed that my placenta situation is unchanged and will continue to be monitored. We had a little scare when the doctor found the baby to have a heart arrhythmia a couple of weeks ago. This was found when I went in to be examined for painful cramping. It turned out I had a UTI. A week later, we had the baby's heart further looked at during a level 2 sono and the arrhythmia was no where to be found. But, we were told that this can be harmless, can come and go throughout the pregnancy and may be affected by my caffeine intake! Darn you Dr. Pepper!

I already feel as though I'm waddling and starting to get the fun aches and pains that come later in pregnancy. I'm feeling him move quite a bit which is always so fun!

We were able to hear Micah's heartbeat tonight at home using an iPhone app called My Baby's Beat. I was hoping to put a short clip on this post but apparently you can only add pictures and videos...not sound clips! We counted it off to be approximately 163 BPM.

I'll leave you with some bath time pictures of our first 2 trouble makers boys. I was trying to get an updated picture for a frame that it is in their bathroom. Landon was being very cooperative (and was willing to work for candy) but Reid was LESS than cooperative during this shoot and these were the best I got!

Rainbow Fun

I've recently become a fan of Pinterest. I've been finding the best activities/crafts for kids! One that I "repinned" from my sister was called Rainbow Rice. It's basically colored rice that you can use with your kids as a replacement for sand...which can be messier! I'm not sure how DIY projects get a reputation for being inexpensive, but I felt I spent more on this project than I wanted to. I just happened to have an under-bed storage tub that was not being used to use as my play box. I'll probably leave it out for a while and then store the rice in bags or another container. While cleaner than sand, my boys still managed to make it a tad messy. I would suggest putting a large sheet or blanket down under your rice box and setting a few guidelines before starting! The boys seriously played non-stop with this for an hour! I actually found it quite therapeutic myself. I only wish I had discovered this at the beginning of the summer! But, we'll hang on to it for those upcoming cold and rainy days! ;)

 Waiting to unveil the surprise....

Directions: Put 4 cups of rice in a gallon size bag. Mix 1-2 teaspoons of food coloring (depending on how dark you want the color) with 3 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol. Pour the alcohol/color mixture in the bag of rice. Close the bag and mix it around until color is distributed evenly. Pour the rice out on cookie sheets to dry.

Gym Class

This past week the boys started their first class at ASI. We just call it "gym class." It focuses on general physical development (coordination, balance, etc.) So far the favorite activity for each of them seems to be the trampolines! They each did a trial class a few weeks back to make sure it was something they would enjoy. We quickly learned that they enjoy it!

Much like the Hipstamatic app, I also enjoy playing around with Instragram. And, it's free!

A Quick Update!

A few weeks ago we went with some sweet friends, the Cochrans, to the Circus! It was the boys first time to go and mine and Aaron's first time in quite a while! It was so much fun and while Landon was a little hesitant about some of the animals at first (mainly the tigers) he quickly got over it and seemed to have a great time!

We got RAIN!!! A few days ago we were blessed with a small rain shower after MANY days without rain! While very brief, it was wonderful and refreshing!
What more does a boy need for a good nap...a sassy, his bear, and a truck! :)
A random picture of 2 brothers enjoying a video game together...
Here is our 3rd little guy at almost 19 weeks. This was taken during a level 2 sono I had last week where I was diagnosed with placenta previa. I have complete previa, meaning my placenta is completely covering my cervix. In the next few weeks, there is a good chance that it can move up and away from my cervix on its own. There is another small danger that comes with women who've had prior c-sections and that's something called placenta accreta. This means that the placenta could begin to embed itself into my uterus and/or scar tissue making delivery much more risky. Our prayer is that over the next few weeks, this condition will straighten itself out and will not even be an issue when it comes time to meet our little guy! I am on some light restrictions right now and will update regarding this issue as we find out more information! We're still working on finalizing a name so stay tuned for that! :)
