It's Mama's turn!

Start with Marvelous Monday below.
That's right! About 2:30 this morning I most definitely joined the party. My boys are so sweet in not wanting me to feel left out. Please say a little prayer for us as this has already proven to be a very tough day....and it's only 7:30 am!!

Marvleous Monday....Modified

While our last few family-fun Mondays have been a little more exciting, we felt the need to keep this week a little low-key given the current situations. First, we went to Chic-fil-A for breakfast, and much to Landon's dismay we did NOT let him play in the indoor play area in an effort to avoid spreading germs. Next, we headed to Target. My personal opinion is it just doesn't get much better than Chic-fil-A breakfast and Target! We debated about even getting the boys out, but after being cooped up at home all weekend, Mama was needing to get out a little. While at Target, Aaron started feeling pretty crummy and asked that we not dilly-dally. After telling him that this trip was almost like Disney World to me, I apologized and then tried my best to oblige. Once we were home, Aaron had a full blown stomach virus with fever and all. This left one tired Mama to care for 3 very sick little boys. I REALLY hope they won't have a chance to return the favor. We were hoping that Landon and Reid's virus was just 24 hours, but it has proved otherwise. While Landon hasn't thrown up since last night, he's only eaten 4 crackers and a handful of fruit snacks today. Unfortunately, baby Reid is still not keeping a whole lot down and ended his evening by regurgitating all 4 oz. of formula I gave him before bed tonight. Landon is sleeping in his room again, but I still want to be close to Reid until he can hold food down a little better. My motherly & wifely skills were definitely put to the test today. I'm just ready to see my sweet babies feel better! This is definitely one of the hardest parts of the job! A special thanks to MiMi who brought us some Sprite and Popsicles! :)

Reid is thinking the same thing many of you reading this are....Why in the world would you take these poor sick babies out?!
And of course, what's a trip to Target without a couple of hat pictures!
This is poor Reid during his 3rd bath of the day (the other 2 were from diaper blow-outs). Unfortunately, he was lying down when he lost his last bottle so it got all over his face! To make matters worse, I chopped off his chin in the picture!
These are a just a couple of items that have been a big help to me the last couple of days! This helps with the odors....
And this might as well be in a holster on my hip.... I just hope the next post isn't titled, It's Mama's Turn! Stay tuned....

We've Been Hit

Bug Update:
Start below if you haven't read this post yet.
Besides some low-grade fever in both boys (and LOTS of laundry) we seem to be doing a little better! Pedialyte has been our friend. Landon has kept everything down so far today, not that he's eaten a lot. Reid has only managed to keep down half of what we've given him and has had some dispoopsia. I'm amazed at how great their attitudes have been during all this. If it were me, it would be completely different!
Landon and Daddy played the piano this morning...one of their favorite things to do together! Reid got to enjoy a little applesauce and a few puffs. Unfortunately, we saw it all again almost an hour later! :( My favorite is the puff stuck on his head....
We've Been Hit
For the most part, yesterday was a great day! We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the nice weather. NiNi and G-Pa came out for a visit and dinner. After dinner, the boys were playing Wii when Aaron noticed much of Landon's dinner was laying at his feet. Of course, we were hoping this was just a fluke, but about 20 minutes later we realized the bug that so many of my friends had talked about had now made a visit at the McGrew home. My mom and I decided to give the boys a bath. It was during this time that I realized when you have more than one child, the bug does not play favorites! Every bit of Reid's dinner (green beans and cereal) came up in the tub. Needless to say, the bath was over! The boys camped out in our room on pallets. It was a pretty rough night and before the morning, neither boy was in the same pair of PJ's or on the same pallet that they started with. It did seem to hit Landon a little harder than baby Reid. Let's hope this is just a 24 hour visit from our dear bug friend!
This is from ealier in the day. The boys were racing in the driveway!

I had recently ordered this nap-mat for Landon and it had just come in a couple of days ago. I didn't know we would be using it so soon. Unfortunately, it only lasted about 15 minutes until it took a trip to the wash!
I told Landon to close his eyes and go to sleep. He made it so natural looking for the camera!

I'm sure many of you have already experienced this and if not, be ready! Apparently it's pretty potent. Every one of the kids (and a mom) that we had a playdate with on Friday all ended up with it Saturday night....except the one who already had it last week....I won't mention any names about who might have started this! You know who you are!!

Assault Vehicle

My mom had a friend who used this term to describe large SUV's. I always thought it was pretty funny, but now....I get it! We have recently become the proud new owners of what I would definitely consider an "assault vehicle." Picture this! A young mom is out with her two young children. She heads to McDonald's where she is to meet a friend and her daughter for lunch. While driving her new used Mommy Mobile she feels big, strong and very high off the ground. Upon arrivng under the golden arches, she circles the parking lot once, passes a couple of spaces, and decides that she probably wouldn't be able to get this monstrosity of a car in those measly little lined areas they call parking spots. She circles again and finally (slowly) pulls into a spot. After about 30 seconds of pondering and strategizing she decides this isn't the one and there wouldn't be enough space to get the children out safely. She puts the car in reverse and very slowly begins to back up. About this time, the reverse safety censors begin to beep and she pauses to freak out a little. Realizing there is no true danger, she cautiously continues to reverse. After another round in the Mickey D's parking lot she finds the one....the one spot that now has an empty space next to it allowing her more freedom to open the doors widely. She pulls in and begins the daunting task of removing the children from the assault vehicle. What a sight this was as she made the hike in and out a few times. Oh, how I missed my jeep today!
This is just a picture I took on my phone the night we found it. 2006 Expedition

Marvelous M-Crew Mondays

Due to Aaron's current work schedule, Mondays are quickly becoming our family outing days. I'm really excited about this weekly tradition of getting the family out for some fun! This will also be a time when we can try new places, so we would love any recommendations you might have. This week we headed to the Galleria! They have a great little kids play area that we checked out first.
Brrr...it was cold & rainy today! Being the wonderul, all-together mother that I am, I didn't put a jacket on my infant son and was thankful that a blanket managed to make it in the car.

This one's for the Thompsons....I know it's hard to tell, but this is a camel.
Doing what Landon loves....sliding!
After we played for a bit we did a little shopping and ended our family fun with lunch at Mi Cocina. Aaron and I had never eaten there before and although our meal was delicious, our bank account probably would have appreciated it had we stuck with good ole' Mickey D's! And, unfortunately, our children weren't in the mood to let us relax and enjoy the expensive, yet yummy, meal!
Of course, the boys didn't leave the mall empty handed. I managed to grab them their first matching outfit...some PJ's from Old Navy. I just couldn't wait to get the cutest little pictures of them tonight. This is the best one I got. They're looking up at Aaron who's attempting to get them to smile. Thanks for trying, Honey! We even picked up a little something for cousin Caedmon that will be delivered in June when NiNi heads that way! I know some of you have probably seen this, but click HERE to check out the reason we thought this was the perfect little t-shirt for him!
