My mom had a friend who used this term to describe large SUV's. I always thought it was pretty funny, but now....I get it! We have recently become the proud new owners of what I would definitely consider an "assault vehicle." Picture this! A young mom is out with her two young children. She heads to McDonald's where she is to meet a friend and her daughter for lunch. While driving her new used Mommy Mobile she feels big, strong and very high off the ground. Upon arrivng under the golden arches, she circles the parking lot once, passes a couple of spaces, and decides that she probably wouldn't be able to get this monstrosity of a car in those measly little lined areas they call parking spots. She circles again and finally (slowly) pulls into a spot. After about 30 seconds of pondering and strategizing she decides this isn't the one and there wouldn't be enough space to get the children out safely. She puts the car in reverse and very slowly begins to back up. About this time, the reverse safety censors begin to beep and she pauses to freak out a little. Realizing there is no true danger, she cautiously continues to reverse. After another round in the Mickey D's parking lot she finds the one....the one spot that now has an empty space next to it allowing her more freedom to open the doors widely. She pulls in and begins the daunting task of removing the children from the assault vehicle. What a sight this was as she made the hike in and out a few times. Oh, how I missed my jeep today!
This is just a picture I took on my phone the night we found it. 2006 Expedition

Awesome! So exciting to have a new vehicle in your life! You did say you wanted an Expedition...
Heehee! The parking get's easier with time... I promise! Pretty soon you'll be as comfortable as ever driving that assault vehicle around and you'll be running all those other puny cars off the road!
It's muy bonita! I like it a lot!! :)
Very fun car. Welcome to the world of Assault Vehicles. It's fun.
