Easter 2011

We had a busy Easter weekend which included 3 egg hunts...which is probably too many if you ask me. Many of these pictures will most likely look the same....just different outfits! :) Our celebration started with a play group Easter party on Friday. I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked from this party.

Korben and Landon. These 2 were not really interested in standing next to one another for a picture...and my favorite part of the picture is Reid in the top left corner who was later spied over by the fence scoping  out the goodies in his basket.

There was some bounce house fun after the egg hunt.

We got 10 kids under the age of 4 to sit still for like a minute or two! Now, getting them to all look and smile at the same time is a whole different story...but we've never gotten them to sit this long before! I only wish I had a picture of Tamara jumping around to get their attention! ;) Baby Logan is the only one not pictured here...from left to right...Julianna, Claire, Mia, Luka, Korben, Max, Rylee, Landon, Reid, Katelynn.

*The pictures above are not from the Easter party but from later that day. I couldn't resist sharing 2 of Reid's best looks.*

Saturday morning we were off to the church egg hunt. We stayed at NiNi & G-Pa's the rest of the day and then enjoyed a wonderful Easter service before heading back home.

I think my two little boys have been watching mommy carry her purse too much.

And yet more bounce house fun at the church...

Sunday morning started off with Resurrection Rolls and an attempt to tell the Easter story to a 1 & 3 year old. They were particularly grumpy this morning and were upset that they weren't eating their usual nutri-grain bar. Later that afternoon, the boys and I decorated some eggs.

That evening it was off to MiMi and Grandy's for Easter dinner and ONE MORE egg hunt!

After our final egg hunt, MiMi needed a little help watering the flowers!

Fone Pics Friday

While Reid is being his normal humorous self in the picture below, I think my favorite part is how much of a reminder it is about being a stay-at-home-mom and what many of our days look like. Landon is in underwear only, while Reid is sporting a t-shirt, diaper and one sock. It was probably all I could manage to get on him as he is my little fighter when it comes to getting dressed!

Reid is very proud of himself now that he is able to climb up in this chair. I thought it was funny that he climbed up in there in his "underwear" and grabbed the remote (a very manly thing to do) so I wanted to take a picture. I didn't really anticipate getting this kung-fu channel surfing shot though...
While at NiNi and G-Pa's the other day, Landon helped water the flowers. Apparently Reid was looking a little dry as well as Landon felt he also needed a little watering...

I feel like I have many pictures of this same shot, but it will never get old to me! Such a sweet reminder of the amazing boys God has blessed me with!
Landon catching up on the weekly deals. An added bonus is that he just got back from the potty (where he's been very determined to put his own clothes back on) and his shirt is tucked into his underwear. But who among us hasn't ever done that??

Gettin' Buggy

This morning while Aaron mowed the yard, the boys and I went on a bug-hunting adventure! I had purchased several little bug box kits for Reid's bug-themed birthday party last year and we were never able to use them. So, I pulled a couple out this morning and the hunt was on. Aaron joined us after finishing the yard. The boys loved it! We did our best to make sure no bugs were harmed during our exploration (I can't make any guarantees though) and then let them all go after we were done!
 Our bug catching materials!

As a kid, I remember how much I hated my freckles! But, I'm absolutely LOVING these little ones that are popping up on Landon!

This big boy is 21 months old today! Can't believe he'll be 2 in just 3 months!!

Open Wide!

For as long as I can remember I've had dental check-ups/cleanings every 6 months. Of course when I was little, I never really appreciated this not-so-fun task. And while it's still not the most pleasant thing, I really appreciate that my parents started this routine for us at a young age. I knew I would want this for my children as well. I've heard different opinions about when children should start going to the dentist, but after THIS little incident we decided to go ahead and start taking Landon in...just to make sure everything was OK and to keep an eye on how his teeth were developing. His first appointment was actually in September 2010. It's a pediatric dentist so they only did what he would allow that first time, so that he wouldn't be too turned off. He really only opened his mouth once and they got to get enough of a look to see that things were OK for the time being. His second appointment was this past week. He did a SUPER job! He actually got through an entire cleaning (it probably didn't hurt that he got to watch Toy Story during the cleaning). He let them put fluroide on his teeth but when they went to floss he was done so that was the end of the check-up. The office is super kid-friendly and is set up in an ocean theme. At the end of your check-up, you get to pick a special prize from the treasure chest! We're so proud of our big boy!

Showing off his prizes! A new toothbrush and a fish cup from the treasure chest. At first he said he wanted to come home and put coffee in it...not sure where he got that because neither of us drink coffee. He settled for a little chocolate milk! :)
