Gettin' Buggy

This morning while Aaron mowed the yard, the boys and I went on a bug-hunting adventure! I had purchased several little bug box kits for Reid's bug-themed birthday party last year and we were never able to use them. So, I pulled a couple out this morning and the hunt was on. Aaron joined us after finishing the yard. The boys loved it! We did our best to make sure no bugs were harmed during our exploration (I can't make any guarantees though) and then let them all go after we were done!
 Our bug catching materials!

As a kid, I remember how much I hated my freckles! But, I'm absolutely LOVING these little ones that are popping up on Landon!

This big boy is 21 months old today! Can't believe he'll be 2 in just 3 months!!

Open Wide!

For as long as I can remember I've had dental check-ups/cleanings every 6 months. Of course when I was little, I never really appreciated this not-so-fun task. And while it's still not the most pleasant thing, I really appreciate that my parents started this routine for us at a young age. I knew I would want this for my children as well. I've heard different opinions about when children should start going to the dentist, but after THIS little incident we decided to go ahead and start taking Landon in...just to make sure everything was OK and to keep an eye on how his teeth were developing. His first appointment was actually in September 2010. It's a pediatric dentist so they only did what he would allow that first time, so that he wouldn't be too turned off. He really only opened his mouth once and they got to get enough of a look to see that things were OK for the time being. His second appointment was this past week. He did a SUPER job! He actually got through an entire cleaning (it probably didn't hurt that he got to watch Toy Story during the cleaning). He let them put fluroide on his teeth but when they went to floss he was done so that was the end of the check-up. The office is super kid-friendly and is set up in an ocean theme. At the end of your check-up, you get to pick a special prize from the treasure chest! We're so proud of our big boy!

Showing off his prizes! A new toothbrush and a fish cup from the treasure chest. At first he said he wanted to come home and put coffee in it...not sure where he got that because neither of us drink coffee. He settled for a little chocolate milk! :)

You've got a friend in me!

Today we took the boys on a special date...to see Toy Story on Ice! It was a super cute show and the boys really seemed to enjoy it! It was about 2 hours long, so Reid started getting a little wiggly towards the ends, but overall they both did very well!
Of course we couldn't pass up on a couple of souvenirs!

Landon's favorite Buzz quote (which he is saying below) is "To infinity and beyond!"

Landon is actually pretending to sleep here...his new favorite thing to do in the car!
While Reid appreciated his new Woody doll, his first love will always be his "Bear." Bear goes EVERYWHERE with Reid and I absolutely love the joy and security that this little lovey brings my sweet boy. If you know Reid well, you know that he usually has a car in one hand, and Bear in the other!

Hipstamatic

I've only been an iPhone owner for a few months, and I know my dad will cringe when he reads this, but I love it! Sure, there are probably better phones out there, but considering my phone needs are pretty simple and mainly for fun, the iPhone has been great for me! This past week I discovered my newest favorite app after reading about it on a friend's blog. It's called Hipstamatic. It's basically a camera that is installed on your phone and applies different lenses, films, etc. to make the pictures look as though they were taken with an antique analog camera. You can choose what style you want, or shake the phone to make it randomly pick one for you. And, there's no editing necessary! I've only had it for like a day but I've already had so much fun with it! Please excuse the massive amount of pictures below, but here are a few of the ones I have taken!
